Short version: if you contact Dampfix through this website, your details are held by Dampfix and by the marketing company that runs the site, for eighteen months, so that both can see which enquiries came from here. Nothing is sold to anyone.
The service is operated by Christopher Alan Vick, trading as Dampfix, carrying out damp surveys and damp-proofing in the Paphos district of Cyprus. The website, advertising and enquiry handling are run on his behalf by a separate marketing company under a lead-generation agreement. Both hold the enquiry records described below.
Why the taps are recorded. Marketing is paid a share of the invoices for work that arrives through this website. A WhatsApp tap that goes straight to the tradesman's phone leaves no record of where it came from, so every contact link on the site passes through the server first and is logged before it forwards you. That log is the evidence for billing between the two companies. It is not used to profile you.
Enquiry records are kept for eighteen months, which is the attribution window in the lead-generation agreement plus a short margin. After that they are deleted automatically. Job records that become part of a survey, a written report or an invoice are kept separately by Dampfix for as long as accounting and guarantee obligations require.
The site sets one cookie, df_first, which records the page you first landed on so that an enquiry made on a later visit can still be credited to the campaign that brought you here. It lasts ninety days and holds no personal information. There are no advertising or analytics cookies set by the site itself. If you arrive from a Google or Meta advertisement, those platforms may set their own.
Under the GDPR as it applies in Cyprus you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and you do not have to give a reason. Write to the Dampfix email address with the reference code from your enquiry if you have it, and the records will be located and removed. If you are not satisfied with the response you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
Published prices exclude VAT and are current at the date shown below. A survey fee is refunded against treatment carried out by Dampfix. Guarantees cover work carried out by Dampfix and are issued in writing with the completion paperwork.
